Tailmailer Terms of Service
Last updated: July 8, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Tailmailer LLC ("Tailmailer," "we," "us") governing your use of the Tailmailer service: email aliases ending in @tailmailer.com, the iOS and macOS apps, the Safari extension, the web portal at account.tailmailer.com, and related services. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
1. The service
Tailmailer lets you create alias email addresses that forward to your real email address. You can tie aliases to specific websites, turn them off, or delete them. Turning an alias off or deleting it causes mail sent to it to be discarded without notice to the sender. We work hard to forward mail promptly and reliably, but email is a best-effort medium: we do not guarantee that any particular message will be delivered, and you should not rely on an alias as the sole recovery address for critical accounts.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in parts of the EEA) and able to form a binding contract. You must provide a real, working email address that you control — it is where your alias mail goes. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Enable two-factor authentication for additional protection. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
Tailmailer exists to protect your privacy, not to conceal wrongdoing. You may not use the service to:
send, relay, or facilitate spam, phishing, malware, or any unsolicited bulk communication; harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate others; violate any law or regulation, or infringe anyone's rights; evade bans, sanctions, or legal obligations, or misrepresent your identity where the law requires it accurately; interfere with the service, probe or breach its security, scrape it, resell it, or access it by any means other than our official apps, extensions, portal, and documented interfaces; or create accounts or aliases by automated means, or use the service in a way that imposes unreasonable load.
We may set and change technical limits (such as the number of aliases per plan or message rate) to keep the service healthy.
4. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Tailmailer at any time and delete your account in the app or portal; deletion is immediate and permanent, and your aliases stop receiving mail. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for us or other users, or go unpaid after notice. Where practical we will warn you first, but we may act immediately for serious abuse (such as spam relaying). If your account is suspended, mail to your aliases is not forwarded.
5. Plans and billing
The free plan includes a limited number of aliases. Paid plans raise that limit. Paid subscriptions are purchased and managed on our website and billed by Stripe; prices are shown at purchase and may change with at least 30 days' notice, taking effect at your next renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. If a paid plan lapses, your account reverts to free-plan limits; aliases above the limit stay attached to your account but you may not be able to create new ones.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the content of your email and your alias notes. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the service: to process, store, and transmit your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not read your forwarded mail; it is processed automatically and its content is not stored after forwarding.
7. Intellectual property
The service, apps, extensions, and their branding belong to Tailmailer LLC and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the apps and extensions on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you got them from. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer (except where the law permits it despite this clause), or redistribute them.
8. Third-party services
The service depends on third-party infrastructure (hosting, payments, networks) and interacts with email systems and websites we do not control. We are not responsible for third-party services, including whether a given website accepts alias addresses.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-interruption. Without limiting the above: mail may be delayed, dropped by receiving systems, or marked as spam by third parties; an alias that is off or deleted discards mail silently; and we may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tailmailer LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in that period. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects the statutory rights of consumers.
11. Indemnity
If you use the service in violation of these Terms or the law and that use leads to a third-party claim against us, you agree to indemnify us for the resulting damages and reasonable costs.
12. App store terms
If you obtained the app through Apple's App Store, Google Play, or another marketplace, that marketplace's terms also apply, and the marketplace operator is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them as to the app. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app and are not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it; those responsibilities are ours.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will give notice (by email or in the apps) at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new Terms; if you do not, delete your account before they take effect.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Texas], USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [Texas], except where the law of your place of residence grants you mandatory protections or venue. Before filing any claim, contact us — most issues can be resolved informally.
15. Miscellany
These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
